Job Description:

Reports To: Parish Operations Manager – New Smyrna Beach, FL

Status: Part-time – Non/Exempt

Position Summary: Serves as the first point of contact for members and guests and is responsible for all front-desk administrative support duties. Responsible for the creation of the weekly service bulletin in coordination with the Lead Pastor and Music Director.

Essential Functions:
• Greet all guests, Team Members, and Staff with eye contact, a warm smile, and a welcome.  
•  Responsible for answering phones, providing information to callers, taking detailed messages, and directing calls appropriately.  
•  Oversee entrance access, ensuring the area is clean and organized.
•  Administer the sorting and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
•  Manage office equipment and supplies (copier, phones).
•  Prepare meeting conference rooms, including stocking supplies, food, and drinks.
•  Prepare office and church rooms for events and meetings, as needed.
•  Ensure that the common area, kitchen, copy room, and sitting areas are clean and organized.
•  Organize and maintain files and information.
•  Manage the handling and processing of shipments and packages.
•  Assist with church logistics with events, as needed.
•  Attends staff and departmental meetings, complies with company attendance policy, observes all safety procedures and policies, and participates in training as directed.
•  Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
•  Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
•  Maintain a continual presence at the front desk; breaks are the only exception.
•  Must present a consistently joyful and cheerful countenance to St Peter the Fisherman Church guests, clientele, and staff.
•  Must possess sound beliefs and doctrine, moral character, and godliness in conduct.
•  Must be able to communicate church policy, each ministry department details, and events.
•  Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, equipment, and needed software (Microsoft Office products, PlanningCenter, Mailchimp, Canva, ProPresenter, etc.).
•  Must be able to lead Team Members.
•  Must have attention to detail.
•  Must be able to learn and adapt continually.
•  Must have a dedication to fostering positive interpersonal connections, collaborating effectively within a team, and supporting church ministries.
•  Must be committed to confidentiality concerning all account records, including those of the church, staff, and volunteers.
•  Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
•  Ability to be discreet in dealing with confidential matters and materials.
•  Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions – This position encompasses mainly indoor environmental conditions. It necessitates the capacity for prolonged sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and flexible movement. Occasionally, lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds with assistance may be required. Proficiency in operating a computer, phone system, and other office equipment is necessary.

Office Hours: Tuesday – Thursday, 8 am to 1 pm, weekend gatherings, and other gatherings, offsites, and special events to include Holy Week and week before Christmas.
