Vision Summary
St. Peter the Fisherman Church is a church in the Anglican tradition that exists to glorify Jesus Christ by proclaiming His gospel, living in the power of the Holy Spirit, and embodying His kingdom in our city. We seek a Worship Pastor who leads people into the transforming presence of God—where Word and Spirit meet, liturgy and freedom flow together, and worshipers encounter Christ in Spirit and in truth.
Role Summary
The Worship Pastor will oversee and lead the worship ministry of the church, cultivating a culture of Spirit-filled, Christ-centered, participatory worship that honors the Anglican tradition while remaining open to the fresh leading of the Holy Spirit. This role involves pastoring the worship team, planning and leading services, and working closely with clergy and staff to shape worship that is biblically rooted, musically excellent, and spiritually alive.
Key Responsibilities
- Worship Leadership
• Lead Sunday worship with sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, following liturgical structure (e.g., Collects, Eucharist, Creed) while allowing freedom for spontaneous worship.
• Select music that aligns with the church calendar and lectionary readings, balancing ancient and modern expressions (e.g., hymns, contemporary worship, and original songs).
• Model and nurture heartfelt, reverent worship that invites the congregation to encounter Jesus.
- Team Building & Pastoral Care
• Recruit, disciple, and train musicians, vocalists, and tech volunteers.
• Foster a culture of humility, unity, and spiritual growth among the worship team.
• Provide pastoral care for worship team members through prayer, mentorship, and encouragement.
- Service Planning & Administration
• Collaborate with the Rector and staff in weekly service planning.
• Manage worship ministry communications, scheduling, and preparation.
• Oversee equipment and technology needs (sound, projection, instruments).
- Creative & Missional Development
• Encourage songwriting and artistic expression within the church.
• Integrate worship into outreach and special services (e.g., Advent, Holy Week, Alpha, Healing Services).
• Support the broader mission of the church through Spirit-led collaboration with other ministries.
Qualifications
- Spiritual
• Deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ; filled with and responsive to the Holy Spirit.
• Commitment to Anglican theology and worship within an Evangelical Charismatic ethos.
• Life marked by prayer, humility, integrity, and a servant heart.
- Musical & Leadership
• Skilled vocalist and instrumentalist (preferably guitar or keys).
• Proven ability to lead congregational worship and develop teams.
• Strong understanding of music theory, worship technology, and service flow.
• Ability to plan and execute worship services that are both orderly and open to spontaneous moments of Spirit-led ministry.
- Relational
• Collaborative team player who thrives under pastoral oversight.
• Able to communicate clearly and pastorally with volunteers and staff.
• Sensitive to diverse generations and musical preferences.
Hours & Compensation
• 10–20 hours per week (includes Sunday mornings, weekly rehearsal, and planning time).
• Compensation commensurate with experience and local cost of living.

Pay Range: $14,040- $15,600
Starting salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
